On the trail of García Márquez / In Private With a guide in Spanish
Gabriel García Márquez (1927-2014), affectionately known as Gabo, is one of the most important universal writers of the 20th century. In 1982 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature for his novel One Hundred Years of Solitude. García Márquez is the greatest exponent of the literary style called magical realism and many of his novels are based on Cartagena. During the walk through the city center, the guide will tell you details about the life of this Colombian journalist and writer and will show you the places linked to his novels.
With a guide in Spanish Transfer from the Historic Center to the Convent of La Popa, which offers a great view of the entire city. Then we will visit the largest fortress built by the Spanish in South America: the fort of San Felipe de Barajas. We will visit some of its tunnels, as well as the statue of Don Blas de Lezo.
