Seville is one of the cities with the most cataloged monuments in Europe. Its historic quarter is one of the largest in Spain (note the difference between the old quarter, which only includes the historic area prior to the Industrial Revolution, and the historic quarter, which covers later stages). Its historical and monumental heritage and its various scenic and cultural spaces make it a city that receives national and international tourism. It is the third city in Spain by number of visitors, after Barcelona and Madrid. Among its most representative monuments are the cathedral (which includes the Giralda), the Alcázar, the Archivo de Indias and the Torre del Oro, the first three declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987
CÁDIZ : The "Tacita de Plata" is considered the oldest city in the West.
Its foundation is due (1100 BC) to the Phoenicians, a seafaring people who would make Gadir an important commercial colony in which the Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths and Muslims would later settle. A cosmopolitan and open city, Columbus chose its port as the starting point for his second voyage to the New World. The city would become, after the decline of the port of Seville, the port of the Indies, bringing together the commercial flow with America. This frenetic commercial activity translated into a period of economic and cultural splendor, in which baroque palaces with their characteristic lookout towers were erected. The Cathedral, visible from the sea, especially its dome covered with golden tiles fits perfectly with the Cadiz physiognomy of colonial airs. It combines the baroque and neoclassical styles and its treasure is one of the most important in Spain. Another of the treasures that the city houses are the remains of the primitive, although remodeled fire defense system. The Puertas de Tierra preserve stretches of wall and semi bastions on both sides, such as those of San Roque and Santa Elena. A walk through the Campo del Sur allows you to contemplate the defensive bastions of Los Mártires and Capuchinos, next to La Caleta, escorted by the Castles of San Sebastián and Santa Catalina.
